If you cross the 65 kilometer long Ötztal, you reach the idyllic mountain village of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. As the "Diamond of the Alps", it draws attention to itself with its perfectly groomed, varied and snow-sure pistes at an altitude of 1,800 to 3,080 meters. Obergurgl is the first non-glacier ski area in Tyrol to open the season in mid-November. With 112 blue, red and black kilometers of slopes, 25 modern lifts and attractive mountain restaurants, Obergurgl-Hochgurgl casts a spell over skiers, snowboarders and freeriders from all over the world from November to the end of April. There is winter sports fun in Gurgl almost around the clock. Early risers enjoy the wonderful ski area with the "First Line" including a ski guide, varied, deserted runs and a breakfast buffet on the sun-drenched Hohe Mut Alm. Night owls use the floodlights for skiing or tobogganing after sunset. The mogul slope from the Hohen Mut in Obergurgl and the steep slope on the Top-Wurmkogl II in Hochgurgl present special challenges for experts. The whole day it goes to the "Funmountain" in Obergurgl with funslope, funcross and snow parks or on the funslope in Hochgurgl away from the classic slopes. The varied terrain with narrow gullies and steep slopes has also got around as an attractive terrain for freeriders. Adventurers aged 18 and over will also find fun and speed on the new snow trail for e-vehicles called "Bobsla" on the Festkogl.
